RHA meeting
February 22, 2012
i. Call to order: Meeting was called to order at 7:04
ii. Roll Call
iii. Approval of the Minutes: Kelli Sobczak moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Kayla McIntosh.
iv. Executive Reports

- Been a busy week, working on some of the behind the scenes work
- Catching up on guest speakers
- Working on the retreat
ii. Vice President Vicki
- Been updating the budget
iii. Executive Assistant Bekah
- Relay for Life group has been started, everyone must sign up by tonight!!!!
iv. NCC/WCC Emily
- WURHA was this past weekend; we won Large School of the Year and the Philanthropy award!
- NACURH applications are coming out next Wednesday. June 1-4 in Boulder Colorado!
- French Dip website is up and running
v. Co Programmers Lauren and Stef
- Brewers game email opens at midnight March 23rd. This year there will be a drawing for tickets rather than the first people to sign up.
- Updating transition binder
- Lil Sibs information will go out in the mail in the next week or so
- Lauren has started visiting LITs, if she hasn’t been to yours she will be soon!
- Finalized dates on all events/programs this semester
vi. PRD Rachel
- Plaques are in and will go up in the halls Thursday
- First PR committee meeting was last night, it was a huge success
- There are post its that were passed out to hang up for Operation Beautiful

- Today is RHA and LIT appreciation day, so Thank you everyone for being here!

- Within the next few days Office of Residence Life will be announcing lots of interviews.

- Applications for NRHH will be out Thursday!!
- Just remember that this week is recognition week

- PR committee made AWESOME posters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Dining Services committee met and went through a survey about dining services on campus. Overall the ratings were pretty good, and what had negative feedback is getting fixed
- Dining Services field trip is happening, dining services from all over the Midwest will be getting together and sharing ideas.
ix. Approval of the Budget: Kelli Sobczak moved to approve the budget, approved by Jordan Toburen. With a vote of 33-0-6 budget passed.
x. New Business /Guest Speakers
i. Chris Hollar
- Next week Friday, dialogue on the Human Perspective is happening in the UC, lunch will be included!! Starts at 1:30, registration is 1-1:15
- Civil Rights program will be happening March 7. There will be a walk from the corner of Center and Main Street. This will start at 1:20ish, and the gospel choir will be singing songs from the era. Once everyone gets back, the event will continue in the Hamilton room with some presentations and interesting information about that time.
ii. Aly Rudy – Empower
- Here to talk about a new organization on campus, called EMPOWER. This is an affiliation of Kiva.
- KEEVA is an organization that raises money for loans, then they give them to small business owners all around the world. This money is then sent back to Kiva. Kiva gets the money by individuals who donate. Once the money is given back to KEEVA, then the money can get donated back to another company in another microloan. If you would like more information, look on the website www.kiva.org
- There is a big fundraiser going on, poverty pinbuster. Wednesday 6-10, Thursday 6-10, Friday 1-6, Saturday 2-7pm. Come bowl and play pool and raise money for these loans.
- Meetings are every Wednesday at 5:15 in Hyland 1306.
iii. Darvel Winfrey – HOPE
- Helping other through Peer Education. The goal is to help educate students on issues that they face, drug and alcohol awareness, sexual abuse, etc.
- Coming to RHA to bring awareness to students all over ,especially students on campus.
- Some of the currents programs include toilet talks, as well as monthly programs
- The current program that they want to put on is Sex in the dark. The program went over really well within the halls, so Hope wants to have a giant program here in the UC. April 5th 7pm in UC 259.
- The budget is going to be around $500.00, so they would like support from RHA for this. They are asking for $2000.00 for this event, as well as future programs. This request will be brought back to the LITs and voted on next week.
iv. Jeni Gruber – Bowling for Boobies
- This event is on Sunday! There is a sign up going around for T shirts, you can also purchase a shirt the day of the event.
- The event is this Sunday in Warhawk Alley from 1-6. RHA donated $500.00, so please come out and support!
- All the money raised at this event will go to Susan G. Koleman Breast Cancer fun
- They will be selling T shirt sin the Residence halls Thursday and Friday
- There will be food a prizes and a raffle and all, so please come out and support this!!
v. NCC/WCC Nominations
- Cole Wohler nominated Cody Schmittinger, seconded by Kayla McIntosh. Cody declined.
- Stef Smith nominated Becky Wintringer, seconded by Megan Reddin. She accepted
- Connie Noble nominated Erin Sutter, seconded by Kayla McIntosh. She accepted.
- Andrea Vishauer nominated Megan Reddin, seconded by Cody Schmittinger. She declined.
- Kayla McIntosh nominated Cole Wohler, seconded by David Hawkenson. He declined.
- Megan Reddin moved to table nominations until next meeting, seconded by Kayla McIntosh.

xiii. Final Thoughts: Due to personal issues, Stef Smith has resigned as Co programmer. This means that next week nominations will open up for co programmer.
